My paternal grandfather owned Caspar's Cafe. It was at 49th and Baltimore. The building is still there. When I last looked in 2002, the sign was still on the building.


People love those old painted signs/ghost signs.

I'm still not sure what to do about the old orinoka painted sign. Eventually I want to put a mural up on that wall, but it would be good to preserve a bit of it somehow/include it in the mural. I'd also like to eventually put windows in on the 5th & maybe 4th floor. Coming up with something suitable is going to be difficult.

BTW, it's nice to see your description of the images. Often times you post photos where it's not really clear why you took it. It would be nice if you occasionally posted "I took this because I found... X interesting about it.."

This image has a description... because I didn't take it. Usualy when Ii post images I'm liveblogging from my phone. That limits my willingness to describe.
